I was recently at the Distinction Hotel for a work conference. I’d let the organisers know I was gluten intolerant and was really pleased with the food provided by the hotel. The chefs at the barbeque were great and went away to check of the sausages were gluten-free. Every morning and afternoon tea and lunch, there was a separate plate for each of the food specialty people (vegetarian, gluten-free etc.) which was great and made a nice change.
The coup de grace though was the sandwich on the last day. The hotel provided bagged lunches as we were all travelling. The gluten-free one had a sandwich and I was a little dubious about it, but it actually had a nice bread which was totally edible.
Great effort by the Distinction. My only suggestion would be to have a variety of morning and afternoon teas, and not to just offer a fruit platter when the normal food eaters are getting yummy sausage rolls!
